Can I Connect My Windows Default Email to All My Devices and Is There An Easier Alternative To Doing So?

Microsoft’s Mail app is the default email app for Windows 10. If you want to use this default Windows email on your other devices, there are a few different steps you need to take, depending on the devices you want to set it up on.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party email app that syncs with your Windows email account to more easily and conveniently access Microsoft Mail across all your different devices.

How To Set up Windows Mail on an iPhone or Other iOS Device

In order to use Windows Mail as your default email client on iOS, you will have to manually add it to each iOS device you want to use it on.

Steps to add Microsoft Mail to an iPhone or other iOS device:

  1. Go to Settings, then scroll down and select Mail
  2. Click on Accounts, then choose Add Account
  3. Select Microsoft Exchange
  4. Enter your Microsoft 365 email address and password and a description, then hit Next
  5. Follow the rest of the on-screen prompts to set your preferences, then click Save

After you complete the above steps, you’ll be able to access your Microsoft email account on your iPhone or other iOS device. Remember to repeat the process for each device you want to set up Windows Mail on.

How To Set Up Windows Mail on an Android Device

Android devices do not have their own Android email app that you can sync your Microsoft email to. Instead, Androids come with Gmail pre-installed, and you can sync your Windows Mail account to the Gmail app.

Steps to add Window Mail to Gmail on Android:

  1. Open the Gmail app
  2. Click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner, then choose Settings
  3. Select Add Account, then choose Exchange and Microsoft 365
  4. Enter your Microsoft email address, then click Next
  5. Enter your Windows Mail password, then hit Next
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish connecting Windows Mail to Gmail

As with syncing your default Windows email to iOS, remember to repeat this process to sync it with Gmail on all the Android devices you want to access it on.

The Easy (And Best) Alternative Way To Use Microsoft Mail on All Your Devices

Connecting your Windows email account manually to each iOS and/or Android device you want to use it on is a tedious process, not to mention you’re limited to the features and functionality of either the Apple Mail or Gmail app.

A faster, easier, and more powerful way to continue using your Microsoft email account across all your devices is to sync it with Spike, a third-party conversational email app.

Spike is available for both Android and iOS. There are also web-based and desktop versions of the app, so you can use the same simple, easy-to-use interface across all your devices, no matter where you are.

Syncing your Windows email account with Spike on any device is as simple as downloading the app and signing in with your email account.

Why is Spike better than other email apps for Android and iOS?

Weighing in at just 33MB, Spike is much lighter than other mobile email apps, including Outlook (260MB), Gmail (200MB), and Yahoo (165MB).

Not only that, Spike is packed full of additional features that you won’t find in Apple Mail, Gmail, or any other default email app.

The pride and joy of Spike is conversational email, which turns your traditional email threads into easy-to-navigate, natural-feeling instant message conversations.

This removes repetitive clutter from email threads and makes reading and replying to messages much faster and more conversational in nature. And don’t worry — you can switch to a traditional email thread view whenever you want to (although you probably won’t).

Besides the conversational email, Spike provides you with a full suite of productivity tools that help you get more done in less time.

Spike centralizes notes, to-do lists, tasks, and email in one unified workspace to optimize your workflows. Not only that, but it has built-in video meetings, voice notes, and group chats, so all your communication is in one central hub.

Why does this matter? Well, the more you can do from one application, the less time you spend context switching, or toggling between tons of different apps and websites.

Not only do you get back the time spent clicking between and logging into different tools, but you don’t waste time refocusing and adjusting to new interfaces every time you need to do something different during your day.

Considering the fact that one study by Harvard Business Review showed people in the workplace can spend up to 9% of their day switching contexts, reducing that time is a powerful hack to get more done.

Summary

If you use Windows Mail and don’t want to go through the hassle of creating a new account with a different email provider to use it on all your devices, it’s possible to connect it to Apple Mail on iOS or the pre-installed Gmail app on Android.

But, syncing your Microsoft email account across your devices using Spike is much easier and faster, not to mention it provides you with far more benefits.
